Roy Earl (as everyone knew him) was a unique man with great qualities. He knew how to laugh and have fun – he woke most visitors to the mountain with his handkerchief tickling their ear or nose. Family was his pride – he knew every person born in the lineage of Roy and Sadie Pruett and could recite their birthdates, full names, spouses names, where they lived and what they worked at (wish he was here to help us now). Roy Earl was loved by all and he showed his love to all. He served in the US Air Force after graduating from Big Creek high school. His concern in this life was not what others thought of him but what his Savior knew of him. Roy Earl was the 2nd son born to Roy and Sadie, his brother Fred was a married man by this time, there were 6 girls born between the 1st and 2nd boy in this Pruett family – a picture was taken to capture the special event. Everyone in the family has a fond memory or two or three of Roy Earl. What a proud father he was when (at the age of 50) his only son, Roy Irvan was born in February 1991.
Roy Earl Pruitt married Juanita Kennedy. No Children
Roy Earl Pruitt married Linda Gay Matney.
Roy and Linda had 1 child:
Roy Irvan Pruitt
As stated in others in this line, Roy Earl Pruett’s name was spelled wrong on his birth certificate so he was born to Roy and Sadie Pruett but he was Roy Earl Pruitt. The family all those years ago never saw the importance of changing the birth certificate. They all went by Pruett until they became adults and had to go by their “legal” name Pruitt. So you will see brothers and sisters with different spellings but they are all of the same family.
